Get Your Printer Online
So, tell me, have you ever gone to print something out and you can't do it because you get an error message that says "Printer Offline?" It happens to the best of us, but that doesn't make it any less annoying! So, what can you do when that happens? Luckily, you have a few options you can try when you need to get your printer back "online." Would you like to hear about them? I thought you might. Well, keep reading and you will!
The first thing you should try is simply turning your printer off, wait a minute or so and then turn it back on. That may fix your problem right then and there. If not, try disconnecting the cable that hooks into your computer and then reconnect it. After you do that, you'll also want to restart your computer to make sure everything lines back up. If you're still having trouble after that, try sending something to your printer to print and when you see the printer icon pop up in your taskbar, double click on it. Then go to the File menu and make sure the option of "Work Offline" is unchecked.
Another thing you can try is right clicking on the printer icon and selecting the choice that says "Set printer online." Or, if all else fails, there may be an actual button on your printer that can help you get it connected again. If your printer has one, it will say something like "Online" and you can press that button to reconnect your printer so that it will print once again. Now, all printers are different, so don't hold me to that, but if your printer does have that button, it's an easy fix for this type of problem. Hopefully your printer situation can be fixed with one of these suggestions, but if not, you can always refer to your user manual or contact the manufacturer for additional help. Good luck, my printing friends!

Finally, After Years Of Searching-
I Have Found Them...
The Perfect Headphones!
Magnificent! Perfect! Comfortable! Crystal Clear! Amazing! Fabulous! These are just a few of the words that I could use to describe these amazing Sentry Headphones.Wait until these headphones wrap around your ears, then you will know what I am talking about! These headphones are simply the best headphones that I have EVER come across!!! I will never wear another earbud or headset again!
Personally, I hate earbuds! In fact, they convinced me that I have odd shaped ears. Those things are simply not comfortable and they are always falling out of my ears. You should see me on my morning jog, I am constantly plugging an earbud (normally the right ear) back into my ear, just to have it fall out again within a few steps! Then, by the end of my jog, both of my ears are sore after those things have been sticking in them for about 30 mins!
Because I hate the earbuds so much, I have been searching for a headset that is lightweight, comfortable, and will stay on my ears while I run! Well, let me tell you, I have searched for years! Then, just the other day, when I thought I had given up and that I would have to settle for those stupid earbuds the rest of my life, I came across these headphones. I said it once, and I will say it again, these headphones are wonderful!
First, they are really lightweight. Like earbuds, these headphones don't have that annoying, heavy, strap that wrap around your head to make them stay in place. However, like headphones, this pair has padded earpieces that comfortably rest on the outside of your ears.
So, you are probably wondering how they stay in place? Well, these headphones have nifty little hooks that hook onto the back of your ears as if you were wearing glasses. These little rubber hooks secure the headphones in place and are extremely comfortable. Today, I wore them all day at work, and forgot that I had them on!!! I was shocked!!!
And the quality of the sound could not be better! You will not miss a single beat with these headphones! Even better, the head phone jack works with my computer, my iPod, and my AM/FM radio! These headphones could not get any better!
Oh- wait! Yes they can... with the price! For just $10.97 and US Shipping is Free. Let me tell ya, I have searched so long for the perfect headphones that I would pay triple that amount. When I saw the price I picked up two sets just for myself- just incase anything horrendous happens and I need a new set. Check out this site for more information!!!
PS: We have a very limited quantity of these headphones! Order yours before they are gone! You won't be sorry!!!! The price will increase back up to $12.97 tomorrow! Order now!

For starters (and this is the biggest difference), DVDs have seven times the capacity that CDs do. If you're not sure, that's quite a bit! Now, I know you're probably thinking, "How can that be possible?" Well, DVDs use more layers than CDs and the way DVDs are written is quite different as well, which is a huge booster for the DVD's capacity size.
Now, it's time for a little background information. CDs and DVDs both store their data in little grooves that run all around the disk. Our CD and DVD ROM drives then scan those grooves with a laser beam, which is how we're able to listen to music or watch a movie on our computers. They both also work with lands (reflective bumps) and pits (non-reflective holes), which help to represent the digital information the CDs and DVDs need in order to work.
With that said, DVDs work with much smaller pits than CDs. Basically, the smaller the pits, the more data you can fit onto the disk and that's how DVDs overcome CDs in terms of available space. As a matter of fact, the normal pit length for a DVD layer is 0.4 and for a CD, it's 0.834. Also, the tracks along a DVD are a lot closer together than on a CD, so that allows for more tracks per disk. As you can see, all of that information runs together to give a DVD a lot more room than is allotted on a CD.
That's also where the biggest difference between the CD and DVD ROM drives comes into play. Because DVDs work with such smaller pits, etc., they need a special drive that will be able to read them. Therefore, a DVD ROM drive cannot read a CD and vice versa (a CD ROM drive cannot read a DVD). That's why most computers these days are coming with both drives already installed. So, while it may seem a little wasteful, now you know why it's necessary!
Want to know some more differences? Well, like I said earlier, the layer sizes for CDs and DVDs are quite different as well. Along with DVDs having several more layers than CDs, they're also much thinner. That helps when the laser beam inside the drive is reading the DVD. DVDs also come with double sided layers, which obviously, allow for more information all the way around.
Another big difference is that DVDs can access data a lot faster than CDs can. They also have a better error correction method. And one last difference is the recording format the two types of media use. DVDs record using the Universal Data Format (UDF) method and CDs are not compatible with that type at all. The UDF format allows DVDs to store data, video, audio or a mix of all three onto a single file structure. That file can then be accessed by any drive or computer. CDs just can't say the same.
Now, I know it may sound like DVDs are the best option when it comes to certain things, but don't forget that there are times when a CD is just what you need. Sometimes DVDs are just too much and a simple CD will do. Either way, the two media formats are very convenient and handy for all of our recording needs. You have to give props to both of them for all they do!

Now, Where Did I Save It?
Here's a tip idea that stems from a reader question! Specifically, she's looking to put the file name in the footer of an MS Word 2007 document and she can't seem to locate that option in the new program.
So, let's go search for the file name field for Word 2007's footers.
First, you need to create the document's footer. That can be done under the Insert tab on the ribbon, Footer button.
Once you're in the footer, under Header and Footer Tools, the Design tab will open.
From that tab, choose the Quick Parts button.
Choose Field from the Quick Parts list.
In the Field dialogue window, choose FileName in the left column.
In the middle column, choose the formatting you want Word to use for the file name.
Finally, in the right column, be sure to check the "Add path to file name" checkbox if you want the entire location of the file in the footer. Without that option checked, you'll only get the file name and not the actual location where it was saved.
Click OK to save your choices and return to the document's footer.
Voila. You'll never have to wonder where you saved a file again!

Google Flu Trends
Did you know that Google is not just a search engine company? Everyone knows about www.google.com and all of the programs and features it offers to help the everyday computer user, but many people don't know about the other part of Google called www.google.org.
Google.org is a part of the company that uses its technology to help the world in many ways. The newest part of the Web site is called Google Flu Trends. It's a feature that looks at search trends dealing with the flu. It monitors to see what parts of the country are searching for articles related to the flu. That way, they can predict which parts of the country are being affected by a flu breakout.
Google Flu Trends then puts all of the data together into a map of the United States. The map shows where they believe flu breakouts are happening. If you're concerned about a spell of the flu hitting your area, you can check the Google Flu Trends Web site to see if others are reporting flu related symptoms in your area.
To look at the Google Flu Trends map, you can visit this Web site.
There are other worthy causes that google.org takes on as well and you can read all about them on the google.org Web site. Until next time, stay safe out there, my friends!

Welcome to Namepedia, an encyclopedia for names! Have you ever wondered what your first name means? Would you like to find out how your last name originated? Maybe you’d like to find a baby name. Well, you can do all of that and more right here!
In the center of the main page, you'll find a search engine. It has four tabs above it: First Name, Family Name (last name/surname), Full Name and Real People. There's also a More option, but I didn’t use it.
Type in a first name if you just want to try it out. You can use your own name or you could use my name. I put in Amanda and clicked on Search.
After you search and choose the entry you want, you'll find the origin, meaning, relations, pronunciation and even a rating for the name on the page. It was really neat to listen to the different pronunciations of my name.
Along the top of the page, there are more tabs. Some correlate with the search engine and some don’t. They are: First Names, Family Names, Real People, Baby, Interactive and More.
I really liked the baby section. You can even create your own list of baby names. To do so, you’ll need to register for the Web site. All you need to do is click on the Create an Account link at the top of the page, put in an e-mail address, a password and then log in. You should then get a confirmation e-mail. Now, choose how you’d like it to appear: public, friends only, private, whether the child is male or female, where they’ll live, what language they’ll speak and the 10 names you like.
People can then vote on the names you picked. That would be a great way to get your friends' and family's opinion on baby names you’ve chosen. Check out the list I created as an example here. They can then rate the names you picked and offer you three more ideas of their own. They can also leave a comment and then click on the Send My Opinion button.
If you’re into celebrities, the Real Name section is for you! Here you can search for famous people by name. For example, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Emmy Rossum. If you search, they’ll give you the full name of the celebrity, their nationality and what their profession is. Also, at the bottom, you'll find articles about them.
This Web site is definitely worth bookmarking for all your naming needs!
Do you have a cool, non-commercial site that you want to share?
Note: This is an Audio CD.
Here's November's wallpaper! It's all free, so enjoy!
