What's that File? - PPS
You could say that I'm a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to e-mail. I get literally hundreds, sometimes thousands of e-mails per day depending on the scenario, so I've seen all kinds of attachments, subjects and the like.
One attachment in particular has always put me off, though. The PPS file.
What is this file, anyways?
A PPS file is actually a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation or slideshow. Just like slideshows past, it is nothing more than a series of pictures, only a PPS is conveniently packaged into one file for easy viewing. Problem is: What if I don't have MS PowerPoint on my computer?
Rest easy, you can download a PowerPoint viewer here, which will allow you to look at PPS files, without actually owning the software!
As always, make sure that you've got all of your virus definitions up to date and you scan everything that comes down the pipeline to your inbox. It's always better to be safe than sorry!

"Hey - Wait, Stop - What The Heck Are You Doing?!?"
That's No Way To Manage Your Files!
Go From A Frustrated User To A POWER User In Minutes!
The Most Amazing Software You Can Install For Windows!
FINALLY - Windows The Way It's Supposed To Be!
When it comes to file management (you know, organizing your files with My Computer or Windows Explorer), people tend to cringe a little. They KNOW they've just hopped on the express train to frustrationville! You know how it is, using "My Computer" and "Windows Explorer", well it, ummm, well it kind of sucks, really. No way else to say it. They are just a little (OK a lot) lacking, ya know?
Wish there was something better?
Much easier to use?
With LOTS of features that just blow everything else away?
Well, I have the program we've all been dreaming of! It's called Power Desk and this thing absolutely, positively ROCKS!
Try it just ONCE and you'll wonder how you've lived without it!
OK, first off, you use this instead of Windows Explorer or My Computer! Why? Power Desk makes doing anything and everything with your files 10X easier! Microsoft could learn a thing or two from these guys! Check out the screen capture below, notice that it opens with not one but TWO file panes (and that super-cool preview pane on the right)? You can completely drag and drop between everything you see on that screen! Go from pane to pane, or back and forth between the same pane - hey - whatever works for you! You've never used a system this flexible! Amazing is an understatement! Once you start using it, you'll never go back!
OK, now that's a pretty cool start, but just wait till you see what else incredible software this can do! This also includes an entire suite of amazing file management tools! If you want to get the most out of your PC, get ready to fall head-over-heels in love!
Just check out this overview!
Move, copy, zip, label, color code, search, view, prioritize, convert and view your files quickly and easily.
I'm going to start with my absolute FAVORITE feature! It's a preview pane and it's the one thing that seriously missing from Windows! How's it work? Easy - simply enable the plane (it's a quick on and off), then click a file. A preview of that file will show up in the preview pane! It's amazingly handy - I mean, have you ever been sorting through a folder full of files and thought, "Gee I wonder what that is?" With this, the answer is just a click away!
This can preview just about everything too - we're talkin' almost any kind of photo (jpegs, gif, even Photoshop PSD files - I couldn't find anything it couldn't preview), office documents (word, excel, etc), text files, HTML files, PDFs, just about anything you can think of! We're talking a whoppin' 150 different file types! WOW!! This one feature alone is easily worth the price of the software, but it gets even better!
Ever misplace a file? Windows has a hard time finding it again, ya know? Well, just wait till you try the outstanding File Search feature inside of this program! You can locate files by name, date, size, path, contents, type - and much more! Heck, it can even find MP3 files based on title or artist name - now that's power! This is easily the BEST search I've ever seen for windows - I promise, you'll be BLOWN AWAY when you try it!
This also includes an amazing File Synchronizer that you're absolutely gonna LOVE! If you have two folders you need to keep synchronized (say one on an external HD, one on your computer's HD - like a backup maybe), then you can use this to make sure the files are always up to date on BOTH drives! Not only that, you can use this to synchronize your laptop and desktop files - now THAT'S handy! On, and TONS of copy options too - you can duplicate files, copy newer files, copy older files, move files (add them) - whatever - from either direction! Amazing (and really easy to use too)!
Oh, and just wait till you check out the Size Manager - a quick click of the mouse shows you where all the space on your hard drive is going! Makes it fast and easy to track down wasted space and fix the problem - I found all kinds of excess junk and freed up several GIGs of space on my system!
This also includes an absolutely outstanding ZIP program for compressing and storing files (password protection, self extracting - it's sweet), it has an FTP program for transferring files to a webserver that I personally just LOVE (the images you see here were transferred with it in fact), and even has an amazing music and photo management system! WOW!!
PLUS - it keeps you safe too! It has a file shredder that makes deleted files unrecoverable, has a file encrypter so only YOU can have access to sensitive files, and can even password protect your zip files! You could easily pay 2X the amount we're asking for this software JUST for a program that does does this kind of security! WHEW! This thing is LOADED!
OK, if you want the best file management system on the planet, you've gotta grab this! I am completely impressed and would NEVER go back to Windows Explorer after using this for just a few days! It's hands-down the best way to go!
Your cost? Just $14.97 and US shipping is FREE! Don't pay $40 for this somewhere else! I tell ya, it's worth every cent of that $14.97, that's for sure! Wait till you try it - you'll wonder how you got along without it!
PS - WARNING - Only a limited number of these available! Better act fast if you want in on this jaw-droppin' deal!

Well, you've come to the right place, because I'm going to show you how you can actually get rid of the files your computer deems undeleteable. Now, before I go on, I want to make sure everyone's on the same page. The "Cannot Delete File" error often shows up when you're trying to delete certain files off of your computer. It could be a document or a picture, a music file or even a saved e-mail. Whatever it is, for some reason, this error occurs more often than we'd all like.
This error can pop up under several different circumstances as well. Sometimes the message may tell you that it cannot delete the file because there's not enough free disk space. Other times, it will tell you that another person or program is using the file and you have to close any applications that may be accessing it. Well, a lot of times, none of the scenarios make any sense. So, more often than not, you're left sitting there thinking, "What am I supposed to do now"? Here are some instructions on how to get past that pesky little error message. If you follow them exactly, the file you want to delete really will be deleted by the time you're finished. Here we go!
1.) First, you need to find the location of the file you're trying to delete, as well as, the file's name. For example, maybe you're trying to delete a file called "mywork.txt" and it's located in your My Documents folder. (The location for that would then be C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents. You must find the exact and full location of the file for this to work). Write both of these down on a piece of paper and keep it close to you.
2.) Next, go to Start, Turn Off Computer and choose Restart.
3.) When your computer starts to boot back up, continuously hit the F8 key on your keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options Menu comes up.
4.) From that menu, select the Safe Mode with Command Prompt choice and then log in normally to your local administrator account.
5.) In the command prompt box, you're going to use the letters "cd" (it stands for change directory) with the location of your file that you wrote down earlier. You'll also need to put quotation marks around the location. So, with my example from up above, you would type in cd "C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents." You don't put quotes around the cd part, just the location.
6.) The next command you need to type in is the delete command, which is "del." You'll need to do this with the file name that you want to delete. With my example above, you would type in del mywork.txt. You don't use quotation marks for this part.
Once you have all that done, the file should be gone. You can go back to your initial location to make sure, but it should be deleted for good. If all goes well, you won't ever have to worry about that darn file again. This is just an easy way to be rid of all those files that your computer tells you it cannot delete. You can't beat that feeling of happiness, can you?!

Excel Has Equal Sign Issues?
Well, sort of
I'd say that Excel has an issue when you're actually trying to type an equal sign into a cell without starting a formula - in other words you need to treat the equal sign like text instead of a formula starter.
(I found that my Excel 2007 would let me create a cell with just an = with no problems but the moment I added any text after it I got the whole "#Name?" routine.)
Since I just mentioned treating it like "text" you may have already decided to just change the cell format to text.
And yet that means wasted time while we move over to use the mouse and go in search of the cell formatting choices. That's a lot of work to change the formatting of a single cell.
I have a better idea - put an apostrophe in front of it. Like this:
I hear you - you wanted an equal sign in the cell, not an apostrophe!
Don't worry; all the apostrophe does is change the cell formatting to text without all the other hassles.
With this little trick you can use the equal sign without any extra frustration anytime you please.

Mind-Blowing, Absolutely AMAZING Anatomy & Medical Software
Incredible, Jaw-Droppin' High-Res Maps Of The Entire Human Body!
Outstanding Medical Dictionary and Encyclopedia!
You've Just Got To See This!
The BEST Selling Human Anatomy Software in the USA!!!
Human Body 360 - DVD Professional Edition!
We've been waiting and waiting for this and it finally came in!! I heard this was a phenomenal program so I've been dying to see what all the hoopla was about! Now that I've seen it, all I can say is, WOW!! JUUUST AWESOME!!! This is the most fully updated and complete consumer anatomy software available anywhere!!! And when you load this into your computer you'll know why!
The program is called Human Body 360 - DVD Professional Edition, and it's actually THREE Programs In One!!
Anatomy Atlas - High resolution maps of the entire human body. You can pinpoint specific parts of the anatomy and you're guided with accompany text, graphics and animations!
Medical Encyclopedia - A detailed visual encyclopedia loaded with text and illustrations linked together
Illustrated Medical Dictionary - A complete medical dictionary containing over 82,000 entries including 63,000 definitions, 11,000 illustrations, and more than 73,000 audio pronunciations! It's like having a printed dictionary in your computer, except you don't have to reach any farther than your keyboard to look up the meaning of a word. Just type in a word into the dictionary search window, or select a word using your mouse, and the dictionary will find the meaning of the word instantly! And the "audio pronunciation feature" reads the word to you so you can hear exactly how to pronounce it correctly!
This a complete guide to the human body and how it works! And what's really cool is that the different programs all work together so you can drill-down and get as much detailed information as you need!
And let me tell you, there's a TON of information here!! Check this out:
Over 500 3-D models and animations
Over 3,000 detailed illustrations and graphics!
All together there's over 5,000 screens that cover virtually everything about the human body!
You're gonna love the high resolution images. You can print them out right from each screen!
One feature that I thought was really great is something called, the "X-Ray Viewer"! This lets you see different layers of the body at the same time. Here's a screen shot I took of one of the slides. Sorry the screen shot isn't better, but the graphics in this program are so detailed it's tough to show it with a small screen shot!
Anyway, I brought up one of the illustrations, which was the muscle system. Then I clicked on the "X-Ray viewer", which has a "slider handle" that you just click on and drag up and down. Wherever you have the slide it shows an "X-Ray" view of the part of the body that you have the slider over! So you can look at one illustration, click on the X-Ray viewer and slide it down and now you can see what's "below" the body system you're viewing! I was looking at the muscular system and right around the neck level I clicked on the "X-Ray viewer". So at that point it shows the circulatory system just below where I clicked! Very cool!!!
Here's another feature I liked called, "Virtual Reality" technology lets you move specific anatomical models to view them from a a variety of angles and perspectives. This is one of the 3-D models. Right below the model there's a section with some text that are detailed illustrations you can click on. (Again, I had to make these screen shots small so that I could include them here. The actual photos you see on the program are MUCH larger!) So you can click on an area of the diagram and you quickly zoom-in and get a "close up" view! If you double-click on an area of the photo, it'll bring up a page of text that gives you detailed information about what you're viewing!.
Plus you can click on a navigation arrow and now see the same section of the body from the side. Click again and now you see if from another angle! Cool, heh?
There's just so much to this program and so many features, I can't list them all. Hopefully this will give you a taste of why I like this so much! And this retails for $29.99 (and worth every penny) but you don't have to pay that! You've not even going to pay half of that! Because today we've got this hugely popular program for just $9.97 and US shipping is FREE!!! But you better hurry cause these will be gone pretty quick!
P.S. If you have teenagers or college students, how much easier would it be for them to use this to help them with their biology homework assignments!!! Are you kidding me?? They'll love it!!
Worth It's Weight In Gold? You Bet It Is!!!

(Wait Till You See Our Deal!!!)
24k Gold Plated connectors! So why is that such a big deal? Faster And More Accurate Data Transfer...that's why! You see, gold plated connectors don't oxidize so you get great electrical contact! And that means a Faster and Higher quality data transfer! "Fast" (480 Mbps!) so you're not waiting for your information to transfer or download. "Higher quality", so you don't have to down load your data again 'cuz the data got corrupted during the process! And as you probably already know, 24k Gold is more expensive than your "run-of-the-mill" materials. That's why most USB cables don't have 24k gold connectors!
But as they say, "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link!" So let's take a look at the rest of this cable...and then I think you'll see why this is top-notch as far as quality goes! Well, the cable itself has a "Foil and Braid shielding", to reduce EMI/RFI interference! That's why the better cables use this type of shielding! So, in other words, this USB cable is constructed of the highest quality component material and it features 24K gold connectors for quality data transmissions! And if that was all, it would be plenty and well worth the price. But, we're not done yet!!!
Because what really makes this USB cable package incredible is that you ALSO get 5 different USB tips! (And, "Yeah"...they're all gold plated!!!) So instead of having to buy FIVE Different cables, This One Does It All!!!
Why do you need 5 different connectors? Well, ever notice how your printer takes one kind of end, your camera another, and maybe your phone or external HD takes yet another (different) type of connection? Normally, you'd have to search all over for an adapter or cord for those special connections - What a PAIN! With this, that problem is GONE forever! Just grab the connector you need, plug in and go - works with ALL equipment!! (and no - that isn't a special cable that came with your phone, camera, etc - just a special end so you think you need to buy an extra cable from the manufacturer)
To give you an idea of just how fantastic this deal is, I happened to see a link for ONE 10 foot USB cable with gold connectors at Best Buy. The price: $40.99!!! Here, check it out for yourself here.
Not a bad USB cable, but only ONE connector. We're giving you FIVE!!! Go ahead...do the math. (You're gonna fall over when you see our deal!!!)

USB Type A
And finally, you can keep all these tips stored in this cool carrying pouch!!
And this cable is USB 2.0...but it's also backwards compatible with 1.x, so you can use it with your older USB devices! PLUS it's "Plug and Play" so no messin' around with software or anything else., Just plug it in and you're good to go! Oh, one more thing...It's also "Hot-Swappable", so you don't need to "power-down" your computer. You can plug your components right in..."on-the-fly"!!!
So, lets see....
You could go somewhere else and spend $40.99 EACH...times FIVE connectors for a total of $204.95!!! Or you could get this fantastic 10 Foot USB cable with FIVE (count 'em...FIVE) Gold Plated connectors....with "Foil and Braid shielding" for (gasp...choke...cough...) only $14.97!!!! And we'll through in US shipping for nothin'!!! Yeah, that's for real...$14.97 and US Shipping is FREE!!! I'm almost embarrassed to list this so low! But we got a great deal with our supplier so...what the heck! Why not "share the love"! But don't wait a second on this 'cuz these are gonna fly out the door!!! After all...everybody else is seeing this too!!! Here's your link...
P.S. - Unfortunately, we don't have an unlimited supply. (At this price...are you kiddin'???) With this, all your USB devices are covered...so you ARE gonna need these connectors if you don't already need 'em now! Might as well get the best in quality at a phenomenal deal!!

Quick Switch to Explorer
Here's the deal. You open up My Computer and start browsing for a particular file or folder. About five minutes into it, you realize you would have been better off doing this with Windows Explorer. What to do? Is it time to start over? Is all hope lost? Am I being too dramatic?
Anyhow, when faced with the situation above, most of us would close My Computer, open Explorer, and then hunt around for the file again.
Instead, right-click the file or folder you're working with in My Computer and select Explore . Windows Explorer opens up with focus on that area.

Do you need to check the weather for your location? Want to see what the weather is going to be like for the next seven days? Well then you’ve come to the right place!
I have to say, I absolutely adore how clean this site is. There’s not a lot of garbage getting in the way of using the application.
To get started type in the name of the city you live in, this may bring up multiple options (if you type in Toledo, you get all the Toledo’s in the world) so select the right location form the list. I’m such a dork, you could also just type in your full location, for example: Toledo, Ohio.
This will then display your location’s weather information for the next seven days. Next to the location’s name, you’ll find the option to set this location as your home.
Are you going to be traveling? You can check the weather for wherever you’re headed just by typing in the locations name. For example, I’m heading back to my parents – so I like to check three locations. I like to check the weather for Toledo, Sandusky, and Lorain, Ohio. These three cities make up my drive from Toledo to Lorain. So I’ll know if there might be rain, or high winds, or anything like that.
This site is an awesome answer to the question: What’s the weather going to be like today?
