It hopes to resolve these customers’ complaints. Comcast customers to get speed boost Comcast is rolling out faster Internet speeds. Most subscribers will get doubled speeds for free. Microsoft to release off-cycle patch Microsoft will make an emergency security patch available today. It is critical for Windows XP users. It isn’t so serious for Vista users. Unlike movie sequels, game sequels often improve. That’s because developers don’t need to start from scratch. T-Mobile’s G1 hits stores Buyers lined up to purchase Google’s Android phone from T-Mobile. The G1 uses open-source software. That means developers are free to create software for it. And many are doing just that. Didn’t Bill Gates just retire? Bill Gates has created a new venture called bgC3 LLC. It has been described as a think tank. It will supposedly coordinate Gates’ philanthropy and business and scientific work. Microsoft readies Office SP2 Office 2007 Service Pack 2 will be released early next year. The update will add features to the Office suite. The previous service pack mostly fixed bugs rather than adding features. Salvation Army tests text donations Salvation Army wants to reach younger, tech-savvy donors. So it is testing text messages. Donors in Ohio can text in $5 donations. Are you ready to give?
